EMOTIONAL BRAIN SYSTEM

UNDERSTANDING
BRAIN SYSTEMS

Despite using all of the brain systems on any given day, we all have a dominant one. We often find our teams collectively lean towards one brain system too.

Let’s take a look at the Emotional brain system...

EMOTIONAL BEHAVIOURS AT WORK

Positive relationships are likely to be the main motivator for people with a dominant Emotional brain system. We would expect them to exhibit the following traits:

  • Passionate
  • High spirited
  • Creative
  • Enthusiastic
  • Engaging
  • Energising
  • Empathic

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT

People who predominantly use their Emotional brain system will likely prefer environments where:

  • There is a high level of contact with people
  • They have the freedom to explore opportunities
  • Ideas are shared and discussed
  • Coaching and counselling are present

QUALITIES OF AN EMOTIONAL TEAM

Teams who collectively use their Emotional systems most are likely to bring the following qualities:

  • Creativity
  • Motivation
  • Team spirit
  • Relationship building
  • Optimism
