Webinar: An Illusion of Inclusion? Unpacking Intersectional LGBTQ+ Experiences in the Workplace

“Only a quarter (25 percent) of LGBTQIA+ employees feel comfortable talking about sexual orientation with their colleagues “

A harrowing yet sadly unsurprising statistic from The Unmistakables Diversity & Confusion Report. With a rise in EDI initiatives in the workplace, more and more underrepresented groups are expressing their concern at being excluded from the conversation.

This year a huge focus for Pride is #AllOurPride, with the focus being that all members of the LGBTQ+ community should be celebrated and that intersectionality is KEY in this.

So we’ve teamed up with our friends at The Unmistakables to dissect a part of the problem.

Our Community & Events Exec Kashi Chellen (she/her) is joined by Inclusion Consultants, Rosie Ngugi (she/her) and Amani Saeed (she/they) from the Unmistakables.

We’ll take a look at:

  • The findings of the Diversity and Confusion report

  • What does intersectionality mean?

  • How different identities come together and intersect

  • Why intersectionality is key to progress

  • Data from our Equality of Voice findings

  • What actionable takeaways organisations can do to be part of the solution
