Fuller's: Launches New Employee Engagement & Happiness Programme

Fuller’s launches a new employee engagement and happiness programme, in conjunction with The Happiness Index, as a cornerstone of its people strategy.

The premium pubs and hotels business employs over 4,000 people across 209 managed businesses, with 1,027 boutique bedrooms, and 175 Tenanted Inns. The company has always been values-led and prides itself on its long-term strategy and vision. The launch forms a key strand of Fuller’s “True to You” people strategy, integral to delivering the wider Fuller’s Environmental Social Governance (“ESG”) programme.

Dawn Browne, People & Talent Director at Fuller’s explains: “At Fuller’s, our people strategy has a clear purpose: happy teams serving happy customers. Our ambition is to be recognised as the best place to have a career in the hospitality industry. It’s vital to us that we do things the right way and build an environment where every person feels valued, listened to, and has the opportunity to share their views on how we can make things better”.

Fuller’s will implement the neuroscience backed employee engagement and happiness platform provided by The Happiness Index to enable its people to feedback whenever, and wherever they want, as well as analysing the company’s cultural health in-depth and seeking feedback to support key strategic projects around wellbeing, reward and belonging (inclusion).

Dawn continues: ”Despite the pandemic proving incredibly tough for the hospitality sector, we have kept people at the heart of our organisation. We’ve continued to invest in our pubs and our people so that we emerge as a stronger business. The launch of our new employee engagement and happiness programme is key to the delivery of our people agenda. We like to build long-term partnerships with suppliers that share our values, which made The Happiness Index a perfect partner for us”.
