Chris’s Quarterly Customer Update

Rather than sending you the obligatory “Thank god 2020 has gone and long live 2021” we wanted to drop you a line and share our highlights from 2020 and more importantly our vision for the year ahead and beyond.

Our Vision

At The Happiness Index, our vision is Freedom To Be Human, which means in order for organisations to succeed, your people need to feel like they are given a voice, they are treated like human beings and can be true to themselves. But how can we as a customer team link that back to real world objectives? Towards the end of last year, the team and I did an exercise where we wanted to create our own customer vision that emphasised our passion and what the end result would look like. So here it is:

  • Our Customer Vision: To ‘lead’ our customers on a journey in the never-ending-pursuit of achieving a genuine thriving culture.
  • Our Passion: We want customers to view The Happiness Index as the ideal long term partner in giving their employees or customers a voice. 
  • The Results: For our customers to LOVE The Happiness Index, specifically the people & platform, thus becoming true advocates.

There are many ways we are going to measure this, but one you are all familiar with is NPS, and our latest score from 2020 was +63, so a good start!

Business Growth

These are still very much challenging times, but we have managed to come through it with a heavy dose of team spirit, grit and innovation. I am excited to say we are continuing to grow and invest in our two P’s, people & platform. We have had three more people join us in December and we plan to have more Quokkas join us in the near future. Our platform has come on leaps and bounds, we have expanded and enhanced our product range, and we have some very exciting developments in the pipeline.

We have also welcomed many new customers to the fold, from all around the world and from a huge variety of industries, plus our Happiness and Humans Community, where anyone can join who has a similar passion to us and our customers, continues to thrive. As well as this, we now have established global partnerships in the USA, Ireland and India, which we are very proud of.

The Future

The biggest challenge the pandemic brought to almost all organisations was the change in mindset  to focus on survival, which has been absolutely necessary. However, as an organisation it’s also our job to give our employees, customers and partners a vision of the future and more specifically, the direction we are going in. So with that in mind, over the past few months we have been working on a 5 year roadmap, and I am excited to announce we are putting the finishing touches to our Mission 2026 plan. It is hugely ambitious, and we are excited to share more details in the not too distant future.

Force For Good

Although being a successful organisation and making a positive impact feels good, it has still not been enough for us, so today I can reveal that we have begun the process of becoming a qualified B Corp. What is a B Corp I hear you say? B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of accredited social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. In a nutshell, we want to be a force for good, and this way we can do it with thousands of other organisations all around the world. 

Last But Not Least

Thank YOU to our customers. Some of you have now been working with us for over 6 years, it’s been a real privilege and we hope to continue this journey for many more. Thank you for sticking with us.
